First baseman Chip Cannon was released by the Biscuits after today's 4-0 loss to Mobile. Cannon hit .103 with 21 strikeouts in eight games. He had three hits, all home runs, in 29 at-bats. Cannon signed with Tampa Bay late in spring training.
and another former Biscuit: LHP Chuck Tiffany, the one-time touted prospect released in spring training, signed a minor-league with the Dodgers, from whom the Rays acquired him in the January 2006 trade.
Update on a former Biscuit: Josh Asanovich signed with Winnipeg of the Northern League on 14 April 2009.
