Biscuits pitcher David Newmann has retired, while infielder Henry Wrigley and outfielder John Matulia have been activated from the disabled list.
Newmann, a left-yhander, was in his second season with Montgomery. He converted from a starter to the bullpen this year. In three appearances covering 4 2/3 innings, he had a 9.64 ERA with six walks.
Wrigley and Matulia stayed in extended spring training with back injuries. They were both with the Biscuits last year.
Any reason Newmann retired? Did it have anything to do with his transition from SP to RP?
