Rays make trade

The Devil Rays traded Nick Green, an infielder at Class AAA Durham, to the New York Yankees for cash today.

That leaves a spot on the Bulls' roster open, meaning a Biscuit could be moving up. More later.

Elliot Johnson?

Wrong Johnson.

I suspected the same when Elliot wasn't in the lineup tonight, but it's the other Johnson: catcher Josh.

The Bulls need a catcher because Shawn Riggans is having elbow problems again, so Josh gets the call.

Josh hasn't been active since Johnny Raburn arrived from Durham on May 14. Raburn came down because the Rays dropped Green off the 40-man.

There were two other related moves in Durham listed in today's Durham Herald-Sun.

The Rays outrighted infielder Luis Rivas, a former major-leaguer who has been injured this year, to the Bulls.

Also, catcher Mike Rose was released.
