135 crowd minor-league camp

The Rays have 135 players in their minor-league camp, which opened this week at the Naimoli Complex in St. Petersburg, Fla. Tampa Bay graciously sent me a roster and it includes 71 pitchers, 14 catchers, 28 infielders, 20 outfielders and two rehabs.

Of the players who were with the Biscuits for last year's playoffs, eight are in the Rays' major-league camp.

Tim Corcoran has moved on to the Marlins and Evan Meek is in major-league camp with Pittsburgh. Brooks Badeaux, Aaron Sisk and Tony Peguero aren't on the roster and I'm not sure where they are.

I'll get more in-depth later.

Brooks Badeaux and Tony Peguero were declared free agents following the 2007 season, as provided by Major League Baseball.
Have not found who they signed with yet.

The Camden Riversharks, South Jersey's Home Team, finalized terms with righthanded pitcher Tony Peguero today.

Peguero, 27, pitched in the Tampa Bay Devils Rays system for eight seasons after being signed as a nondrafted free agent in 1999. He holds a 4.12 career ERA and reached Triple-A Durham in 2007.
