Rays third baseman Evan Longoria has been named the Sporting News' American League Rookie of the Year. Cubs catcher Geovany Soto won the magazine's NL rookie award.
Before we get confused, the main Rookie of the Year awards are picked by the Baseball Writers Association of America.
