Pena, Rays officially announce first baseman's return
The Rays and Carlos Pena have formally announced a one-year, $7.25 million contract, which firmly patches the team's first base needs for this season. Pena was with Tampa Bay from 2007-10 and is the team's all-time home run leader with 144.

How many times has he been DFA'd now?
I think/can only come up with two (February 2001 and January 2012), but that doesn't seem like enough.
