The Rays are among five teams courting free agent outfielder Ken Griffey Jr., according to Sports Illustrated. He'd be a veteran influence in the clubhouse, replacing Cliff Floyd.
Griffey, who has said he'd like to play one more year, would also jump into the right-field mix with Gabe Gross, Matt Joyce and former Biscuit Fernando Perez. A return to the Mariners, Griffey's original team, is also a possibility.
