Wade Davis didn't get a win in his major-league debut, but it's a fair decision to say it wasn't his fault.
Davis allowed three hits and one run in seven innings against the Detroit Tigers, who scored four times (a Brandon Inge grand slam) in the ninth to beat the Rays 5-3. Davis, who walked one and struck out nine, was christened in the second inning with an Aubrey Huff home run.
That's eerily similar to the final verdict from Andy Sonnanstine's debut at Toronto in June 2007. Sonnanstine stood to win until the Blue Jays tossed up six in the ninth to win 12-11.
