Former Biscuits reliever Dane De La Rosa was traded by the Rays to the Los Angeles Angels today for reliever Steve Geltz.
Geltz made two major league appearances last August, both against the Rays. He gave up one run over two innings. The right-hander started last year in Double-A.
De La Rosa, who had a 1.97 ERA in 47 games for Montgomery in 2010, made his major league debut in 2011. In 12 games for Tampa Bay over the last two years, he had a 10.95 ERA. The Rays removed him from their 40-man roster this winter.
