Mason wins league award

Montgomery's Chris Mason became this year's first two-time winner of the Southern League's weekly pitching award. Mason was 2-0 with an 0.69 ERA in 13 innings last week and won his league-leading eighth game Sunday.

Mason is second in the league in ERA (2.31) and strikeouts (64), and tied for second with 70 innings pitched.

James Houser won the award two weeks ago and Mason won it April 30.
