Chris Nowak drove home Chris De La Cruz with the winning run in the 10th inning, lifting the Biscuits to a 3-2 win over the Birmingham Barons.
Nowak’s flyout to right with the bases loaded brought in De La Cruz and gave the Biscuits first place to themselves in the Southern League’s first-half South Division race.
Jacksonville split a doubleheader with Mobile on Saturday, leaving the Biscuits a half-game ahead of the Suns.
De La Cruz walked to lead off the inning and went to second on Emeel Salem’s bunt. After the Barons intentionally walked Rashad Eldridge, Nevin Ashley singled to load the bases and bring up Nowak.
