Justin Ruggiano reached base five times, Elliot Johnson homered for a second straight night and Durham beat Toledo 9-5 to take a two-game lead in the International League playoffs.
The Bulls go for a three-game sweep Friday at Toledo.
Ruggiano was 3-for-3 with two walks, two RBIs and two runs scored, while Jeff Niemann worked five innings for the win.
Outfielder Jason Pridie, who was hit by a pitch in the first inning, left for a pinch-hitter in the fourth.
