Huntsville Stars coming to Montgomery

The Huntsville Stars beat the Tennessee Smokies 8-7 tonight to win the North Division title and set up a rematch of last year's Southern League championship series.

Since my boss was curious, the last time the same teams made the finals two straight years was 1975-76. Both times, the Montgomery Rebels defeated the Orlando Twins for the championship.

The Smokies rallied in the ninth, scoring on Tyler Colvin's double and loading the bases with one out. Chris Robinson struck out and Gary Cates hit a groundball that ended it.

Hernan Iribarren homered for Huntsville, while Steve Sollmann walked and scored twice.
