Former Biscuits first baseman Rhyne Hughes, who played at Triple-A Norfolk in the Baltimore organization, has drawn a 50-game suspension after testing positive for an amphetamine.
Major League Baseball announced the suspension today. It will start at the beginning of next season.
Hughes, who turned 28 last week, had a .249 average in 92 games this year at Norfolk. He played in 14 major league games with Baltimore last year and was with Montgomery from 2007-09.
