Mitch Talbot, a postseason star for the Biscuits in 2006, threw seven solid innings for the Columbus Clippers in an 8-3 playoff win over the Durham Bulls on Thursday.
Talbot gave up two runs on seven hits as the Clippers took a 2-0 lead in the best-of-5 International League series. Game 3 is Friday at Columbus.
Durham's Chris Archer totaled 11 strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings. He allowed five runs on seven hits and three walks.
Dan Johnson had two RBIs and Matt Carson scored twice for the Bulls. Carson singled, doubled, walked and recorded an outfield assist.
