Biscuits catcher Mark Thomas is sporting a swollen left thumb, thanks to a foul ball Thursday, and isn't available for today's game with Mobile. The Biscuits, to not jeopardize use of the designated hitter, have moved Ryan Garko, their No. 2 available catcher, to first base and Mike Sheridan to DH today.
Thomas has a brace for the thumb, though it's unclear how much time he'll miss. He remains on the active roster. "This will help a lot," he said. "We'll see."
