Center fielder Evan Frey, a week after joining the Biscuits, has been promoted back to Triple-A Durham. Frey was 3-for-18 in four games with Montgomery.
Frey was hitting .224 in 19 games for the Bulls when he was sent to the Biscuits a week ago.
The Bulls were in need after infielder Ryan Roberts was promoted to the Rays, who were in need after putting pitcher Matt Moore on the disabled list.
