Friedman: Bush likely done with Rays

Matt Bush, who pitched for the Biscuits last year and who faces serious charges for a DUI last week, is likely finished with the Rays, team general manager Andrew Friedman just said.

Bush was due to go to Triple-A Durham this season before last week's wreck in which he's accused of running over a 72-year-old motorcyclist, fleeing the scene and having a blood-alcohol content more than twice Florida's legal limit. Bush has had previous well-publicized alcohol-related incidents before the Rays signed him in 2010. The 26-year-old went on Tampa Bay's 40-man major league roster a year ago.

"I think it's safe to say that he's not going to play for us on the field," Friedman said. "Even that, with the ongoing criminal investigation, with all of the different dynamics at play, it's hard to talk about the 40-man spot and everything else. Until things advance more, it's difficult to know exactly which way we're going to be able to go."
