Nevin Ashley singled home Matt Fields to give the Biscuits a 5-4, 14-inning victory over the Chattanooga Lookouts in a game that started Friday and ended early Saturday.
Ashley hit a bases-loaded single into left field and Fields scored at 12:53 a.m. Saturday.
The Southern League’s curfew wouldn’t have allowed the teams to play another inning. Teams aren’t allowed to begin another inning after 12:50 a.m.
Friday’s game wasn’t helped by the weather. A thunderstorm hit in the eighth inning and caused a 51-minute delay.
