Former Biscuits pitcher James Shields has been picked as Tampa Bay's nominee for the Roberto Clemente award.
The award goes to the major leaguer "who combines exceptional performance on the baseball field with devoted work in the community," according to a Rays release.
Fans can vote online starting Wednesday (through Oct. 4) at www.chevy.com/clemente.
