Archer hits target for Southern League honor

With help from the Biscuits, Tennessee's Chris Archer won the Southern League's weekly pitching award. On July 19, he allowed two unearned runs over 5 1/3 innings to beat Montgomery and followed with six shutout innings against Mississippi on Saturday. Archer is 4-1 with an 0.00 ERA in 28 1/3 innings for the Smokies.

West Tenn first baseman Alex Liddi, after a five-home run, 12-RBI week, won the hitting honor. He was 9-for-25 with seven runs scored and the Jaxx were 6-1 for the week. Liddi now has two weekly awards this year.
