Biscuits bench clears in middle of eighth

Carolina second baseman Jake Kahaulelio and shortstop Kris Negron had words with Biscuits first-base coach Ozzie Timmons in the middle of the eighth.

Pure speculation here: Negron hit a bunt single in the top of the eighth with the Mudcats down 11-4 and Timmons voiced his displeasure.

Mudcats manager David Bell came out once his infielders started in Timmons' direction and headed for Timmons, but was kept away. Eventually, Biscuits manager Billy Gardner and Bell were also engaged, though it may have been to keep Bell away from Timmons.

No ejections (that we can tell). Both benches have been issued a warning (there have been five hit batsmen already).

The entire Biscuits bench and bullpen headed toward the confrontation, which took place around first base. Most of the Mudcats also poured out.
