Greg Sexton scored in the ninth inning on a Jake Jefferies flyout and the Charlotte Stone Crabs avoided a Florida State League championship series sweep with a 2-1 win over the Tampa Yankees.
Game 4 of the series is Monday at Tampa.
Matt Moore ran up 10 strikeouts and gave up one run over six innings. He walked four and gave up four hits. Moore uncorked two wild pitches in the fifth to bring in Tampa's run.
Neil Schenk was the winner with two shutout innings. Zach Quate worked around a one-out single in the bottom of the ninth for the save.
