Rays add catcher, allow Tigers to keep Lobstein

Left-handed pitcher Kyle Lobstein, who ended last year with the Biscuits before being taken in the major league Rule 5 draft, is staying with the Detroit Tigers.

To be able to send Lobstein to the minor leagues while retaining his rights, the Tigers have traded minor league catcher Curt Casali to the Rays.

It would appear Casali will go to high-Class A Charlotte to begin the season. The 24-year-old hit .270 with nine home runs and 43 RBIs in 93 games between low-Class A West Michigan and high-Class A Lakeland last year.
