Sunday's minor-league Rays roundup

Durham 5, Charlotte Knights 4 (12)
Jon Weber's home run in the 12th won it for the Bulls. Durham homered four times in the final four innings: Ray Sadler (ninth), Reid Brignac (10th) and Matt Joyce (11th). Starting pitcher Jason Cromer put together a second straight nice start with five shutout innings.

Charlotte Stone Crabs 6, Palm Beach 3
Darin Downs pitched a six-hit complete game, the first of his career, with no walks and seven strikeouts. All three runs came in the first inning on a three-run Curt Smith homer. Downs faced the minimum from the fourth inning on. He erased a fourth-inning single with a pickoff and an eighth-inning single with a double play. The 24-year-old left-hander is 2-0 with a 1.93 ERA.

Biscuits off. Hot Rods rained out.

Ray of day: Downs
