Biscuits have long trip after Braves finale

The Biscuits finish their home series with Mississippi tonight and head off on a 10-game road swing that takes them to Jacksonville and Carolina. Tonight's game is Montgomery's last at home until May 31.

If you need a baseball idea for next week, go see Mississippi wear the old Atlanta powder-blue uniforms against the Barons in the Rickwood Classic. The annual game is next Wednesday. (If you're curious about my plans for much of the time they're away, click this.)

Anyway, outfielder John Matulia has left for Florida and extended spring training. He needs some at-bats to regain his timing following an elbow injury that has cost him the last month.
