pitched seven shutout innings tonight, is in line for his first victory since June 6, 2008, just before he had Tommy John surgery, and struck out 11. The Biscuits lead 6-0 at the stretch. The 11 strikeouts are his most in Double-A and it's the 11th time in his career that he's posted double-digit Ks.
Did his stuff seem harder/crisper today?
Yes, very much so. I saw a 93 on the gun here, which usually translates into a 95. (I admit I didn't look after every pitch.)
Hopefully McGee can be that LHP with the big fastball out of the pen, for the Rays in the near future
