Gomes, Rays strike one-year deal

The Rays and outfielder Jonny Gomes avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year deal today.

Left-handed pitcher Scott Kazmir and first baseman Carlos Pena remain on Tampa Bay's arbitration list.
