Outfielder Emeel Salem has been released by the Biscuits, who have added Brett Nommensen from high-Class A Charlotte.
Salem had played in just 26 games this season after missing all of last year with a knee injury. He had a .238 average. The 27-year-old will be OK with a budding music career.
Nommensen started the year on the disabled list due to a hamstring injury suffered last year. He was hitting .216 in 13 games for the Stone Crabs. Nommensen spent four games with the Biscuits last season and was 4-for-15. He hurt his hamstring soon after returning to Charlotte.
