Colome heading up from Charlotte

The Biscuits are getting right-handed starter Alex Colome from high-Class A Charlotte, which is adding left-handed starter C.J. Riefenhauser from Bowling Green.

Colome, who ranks seventh on Baseball America's preseason list of Tampa Bay prospects, was 9-5 with a 3.66 ERA for the Stone Crabs. In 105 2/3 innings, he held Florida State League hitters to a .214 average and totaled 92 strikeouts.

Colome is scheduled to make his Biscuits debut in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader at Jackson.

Riefenhauser was 6-5 with a 2.31 ERA with the Hot Rods and threw five shutout innings of one-run ball in each of his last two starts. His 101 1/3 innings featured a .212 average against and 99 strikeouts. He'll debut for Charlotte on Saturday.
