Gary Gaetti, the former major league All-Star and Durham hitting coach, has been named the manager of the independent Sugar Land Skeeters.
The Skeeters -- named for the insect, not the former Biscuits hitting coach -- are an expansion team in suburban Houston that will begin play next year in the Atlantic League. Gaetti worked for the Rays in 2007-08 at Triple-A Durham.
