BayBears are 1 win from reaching Rebels' level

The Mobile BayBears will get their shot at the Montgomery Rebels.

The BayBears, with Saturday's 3-1 win over the Birmingham Barons, forced a decisive Game 5 of the Southern League championship series.

If Mobile wins Sunday at Birmingham, the BayBears will win their third straight league title. The Rebels are the only team that has won three straight Southern League championships. They did it 1975-77.

Bo Schultz gave up one run on five hits in 7 2/3 innings Saturday, while Jake Barrett retired all four batters he faced for his third postseason save.

Raywilly Gomez hit an RBI single in the second inning and homered in the fourth. Dustin Martin homered in the ninth.
