Rico Washington announces retirement

Third baseman Rico Washington, who was a Southern League All-Star for the Biscuits in 2005, has announced his retirement after a 13-year career, the Altoona (Pa.) Mirror reports. Washington reached the majors in 2008 with the St. Louis Cardinals.
