Rollins fine, expects to make next start

Biscuits pitcher Heath Rollins survived today's X-rays without needing a cast or extra bandage and "definitely" expects to make his next scheduled start, which is Friday at Tennessee. He was hit on the back of his throwing hand on the final out of the top of the sixth inning Sunday.

Outfielder Jason Perry also had a positive doctor's visit and can begin more-extensive exercises involving the left wrist that he broke in late May.

Something to look for in Tuesday's paper, Barons third baseman Dayan Viciedo had positive reviews of the most-recent baseball defector from Cuba. Left-handed pitcher Aroldis Chapman reportedly hits 100 mph. Viciedo is in his first pro season after defecting from Cuba.

The two healthy Southern League umpires are picking up some local help tonight. Kurtis Waites will fill in for Booter West, who will miss a second straight game after being hit by a foul ball Saturday.
