The Rays picked up left-handed pitcher Jeff Beliveau from the Rangers in exchange for "cash considerations" today. Beliveau is going to Triple-A Durham. To make room on the 40-man roster, the Rays moved Jeff Niemann to the 60-day disabled list.
The Rays are now in arrears to the Rangers. Beliveau is the second player in the last week added by Tampa Bay from Texas for "cash considerations." Catcher Juan Apodaca is also at Durham.
Tampa Bay also sent a player, catcher Robinson Chirinos, to the Rangers this month for a player that has not been named.
