Mark Thomas hit his first career grand slam -- and the 26th in Biscuits history -- to lead Montgomery in a 9-3 win over the Mobile BayBears on Tuesday.
Thomas' first-inning blast was his first home run of the season. Greg Sexton also hit his first homer in the sixth inning, while Riccio Torrez cracked his second, a two-run shot, in the eighth.
Starter Matt Buschmann worked 5 2/3 innings for the win. He served up a solo home run to Nick Evans in the first inning before Mobile scored twice off him in the fifth.
Reliever C.J. Riefenhauser retired all seven batters he faced. Thomas and Shawn O'Malley scored twice for Montgomery, which snapped a four-game losing streak.
