Mikie Mahtook's RBI triple capped a three-run rally that pushed the Biscuits to a 9-6, 11-inning win over the Tennessee Smokies on Sunday in Sevierville, Tenn.
Montgomery snapped the tie with an infield groundball.
With runners on second and third, Ty Morrison hit a grounder to second baseman Ronald Torreyes, who committed a throwing error. Kevin Kiermaier and Riccio Torrez scored on the play.
Riccio was part of the Biscuits' game-tying, two-run rally in the eighth.
Mayo Acosta hit a two-out double that scored Cameron Seitzer from first base. Torrez, pinch-hitting for Greg Sexton, singled in Acosta to tie it 6-6. Acosta, who hit a two-run home run in the sixth inning, finished with four RBIs and scored twice.
Left-hander C.J. Riefenhauser threw three no-hit innings with a walk to pick up the victory. Riefenhauser has thrown 7 1/3 hitless innings over his last three appearances and has a streak of 9 1/3 shutout innings.
