Tiffany signs with indy team; Asanovich an All-Star

It looks like former Biscuits pitcher Chuck Tiffany has signed with the independent Grand Prairie AirHogs of the American Association. The daily transactions say they've announced signing a left-handed pitcher named Charles Tiffany and the team calls him Chuck on its roster. No press release available. The Rays released Tiffany this spring and he signed with the Dodgers.

Also, former Biscuits second baseman Josh Asanovich is an All-Star in the independent Northern League. He's with the Winnipeg Goldeyes and entered today with a .303 average and 21 runs scored in 35 games.

Jake Gautreau, released this spring by the Rays, was named an assistant coach at Tulane today. Gautreau was a star for the Green Wave when the team played in a 1999 NCAA regional at Auburn.
