JD grad in 20th; AUM pitcher in 22nd

Jeff Davis graduate D.J. Jones, who didn't sign after being drafted in the 22nd round last year, went in the 20th round Wednesday.

The outfielder was the 20th-round choice of the Toronto Blue Jays. Jones played this spring at Hillsborough Community College in Tampa, Fla.

Jones struggled and finished with just a .205 batting average in 32 games. He also pitched 25 1/3 innings and was 1-2 with a 2.13 ERA. Jones was a .559 hitter at JD as a senior with 35 steals and 49 runs scored.

AUM pitcher Cory McGinnis was a 22nd-round pick of the Chicago White Sox. McGinnis was 6-4 with a 4.42 ERA this year.
