Brazell wins minor-league home run title

It doesn't mean as much as playing in the major leagues, but Montgomery native Craig Brazell won the minor-league home run championship.

Brazell, who moved up to the Kansas City Royals last week after his season at Class AAA Omaha ended, finished with 39 home runs. Chris Davis finished with 36 at Class AA Frisco, which didn't end its season until Sunday.

So, Brazell wins the Bauman Trophy and will receive a $7,800 bonus -- $200 per home run -- at baseball's winter meetings in December.
