Biscuits catcher John Jaso won the Southern League's player of the month award for August while leading Montgomery to a second straight playoff appearance.
Jaso hit .378 with 21 runs scored and 20 RBIs in the regular season's final month. The league announced the award today.
The 23-year-old was a midseason and postseason league All-Star. His .316 season average was second in the league and his .408 on-base percentage was third. He also set career highs in runs scored (62) and RBIs (71).
