Charlotte second baseman Tyler Bortnick carried home Florida State League honors for the week.
He had nine RBIs in the Stone Crabs' final three games, all wins over Bradenton, before the FSL All-Star break. On Tuesday, Bortnick was 2-for-2 with two walks, two runs and two RBIs, including a solo home run. On Thursday, he hit an eighth-inning grand slam.
Bortnick, who played in Saturday's All-Star Game, has a .304 average and a .428 on-base percentage this year. His on-base percentage is third in the FSL.
