Jared Mitchell scored twice and Jose Martinez hit a two-run double to help the Birmingham Barons pull in a 5-2 over the Biscuits in the second game of Thursday's doubleheader.
Mitchell singled and scored on an error in the second and doubled and scored on an Erik Morrison single in the fourth. Martinez's double came in the seventh, and final, inning.
After Hak-Ju Lee tripled to lead off the first inning, the Biscuits didn't have another runner get into scoring position until the sixth. Lee scored on a Tyler Bortnick groundout.
In the sixth, Montgomery loaded the bases with one out and made it 3-2 when Emeel Salem scored on a Cole Figueroa flyout. Henry Wrigley walked to reload the bases, but Omar Luna hit a sharp grounder to first to end the threat.
After Lee's triple, Barons starter Jose Quintana retired 10 straight hitters and faced the minimum until the sixth.
