Alex Colome, who hasn't pitched since suffering an oblique injury April 11, left the Biscuits for some extended spring training time in Port Charlotte, Fla., today.
"He's feeling really good, going through treatment, throwing off flat ground and going through conditioning," manager Billy Gardner said. "It's just a matter of getting him built back up."
Colome will miss Montgomery's upcoming 10-game road trip to Tennessee and Chattanooga. He could return during the Biscuits' home series May 11-15.
