Morning reading; Dahl has strong Montgomery ties

The annual draft starts today with the first 60 picks and Oak Mountain High outfielder David Dahl is expected to be among the top 20. By the way, Dahl was born in Montgomery and lived here through the eighth grade.

Biscuits pitchers Kyle Lobstein and Jake Thompson were second-round picks in 2008 and '10, respectively. Both made meaningful purchases after their financial status received a boost.

Finally, the Biscuits pulled within one game of the division-leading Mobile BayBears with Sunday's 3-2 win over Tennessee. There are 13 games left in the Southern League's first-half race.
