Assorted stuff from Monday's Southern League All-Star Game ...
Chris Mason pitched 1 1/3 innings tonight. He struck out Huntsville's Brendan Katin to end the second, walked Carolina's Chase Lambin to start the third before recording three more outs. He struck out two and threw 21 pitches, 13 for strikes.
John Jaso led off the bottom of the second with a bloop single over shortstop. He was soon retired on the front end of a double play. Jaso did have a passed ball during Mason's third inning.
Jaso singled in the fourth and suffered a second passed ball in the fifth. Mobile's Wilkin Castillo came on to replace Jaso in the sixth.
