Brothers Andrus won't play this year

Remember that potential brotherly Southern League playoff matchup I wrote about between Montgomery's Erold Andrus and Atlanta stud prospect Elvis Andrus?

Well, it won't happen.

First, the Biscuits are sinking fast in the second-half division race -- they've lost eight of nine games entering tonight's game in Hoover against Birmingham. Second, there's now no way Elvis will be with Mississippi at the end of the season.

Atlanta shipped catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia and Elvis to the Rangers today for slugger Mark Teixeira and pitcher Ron Mahay. The Rangers are also receiving minor-league pitcher Neftali Feliz and a player to be named later, who looks to be pitcher Matt Harrison.

That would mean the Braves are giving up their top three prospects (Saltalamacchia, Andrus and Harrison) from Baseball America's preseason list.
