Humid Friday; Meek on DL

The Rays announced signing their seventh-round draft pick, University of North Carolina outfielder Reid Fronk, today. The Biscuits vow they'll go to great lengths to play tonight, despite the rain in the area. And just as I write that, the rain stops and blue skies start to appear. The tarp is coming off the field at 5 p.m.

The Biscuits put pitcher Evan Meek on the disabled list with a sore shoulder. Meek said it's nothing serious and he thinks he "may have slept on it wrong." He's due back next week.

Also, pitcher Chris Mason is debuting his new hue tonight -- red.
