Pensacola's Josh Fellhauer, whose final-month flourish left him just one hit shy of a batting title, won the season's final Southern League player of the month award.
Fellhauer had a .505 on-base percentage and a .372 average after the calendar hit August. With one more hit, he would have passed Montgomery's Omar Luna for the league batting crown.
