Riggans requires more rest, not surgery

Shawn Riggans will miss at least another three weeks -- but he won't need surgery -- after aggravating his shoulder injury while with the Biscuits last week.

Riggans visited orthopedist Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham today and the Rays announced the results to reporters before tonight's game at Baltimore.

Riggans will need another rehab assignment before returning to the Rays. He's been on Tampa Bay's disabled list since April 10 with shoulder tendinitis.
